For me, business and design go hand in hand. Don’t get me wrong, I love blue sky thinking and thinking out of the box is what makes designers like myself fantastic problem-solvers. Some of the best ideas come from taking something from one industry and applying it to a new situation. However, understanding the root cause of the problem, the consumer’s behaviour or the social barrier that your product will overcome is vital in developing a great product. I always want to learn more, to gain more knowledge on a subject; how else can you understand how to design an amazing product? Never be the smartest person in the room.

Initially, I studied Product Design. After a few years working in the industry I wanted to know more about the business side of things. Completing an MBA while continuing to work helped to quench my thirst for understanding while keeping my product design skills sharp. Alongside the experience I was getting through my career involving design for assembly and design for manufacture, I could also understand the business element of product design and the full product lifecycle.

If you hadn’t guessed already, I am extremely hard working and enjoy taking on new challenges. With the experience I have gained I am flexible in the services I offer, adaptive in my approach and, most importantly, I can collaborate with you or your partners on a friendly face-to-face level.
